The Gulf Ford GT40 of Jackie Ickx/Jack Oliver won an absorbing duel with the Hans Herrman/Gerard Larrouse Porsche 908 to win the 1969 Le Mans 24 hours in the closest ever finish to this historic race. The Ford GT40 won by some 60 yards and this very same car had also won the race the previous year, making the car the only ever dual winner in the race's long history.
