Austrian Jochen Rindt in his Lotus 49 passes the Hotel de Paris in Casino Square on his way to a dramatic victory in the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix, where he passed Jack Brabham on the last corner of the last lap of the race. This spectacular driver eventually went on to become the sports only posthumous World Champion that year, as he was to die in an accident practising for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
